The first sign of the pride is the dissatisfaction. When someone is offended – it speaks of his hidden, deep pride. The offended people are very proud, self-loving people. And when we catch ourselves thinking that we are offended, it shows that we live in pride – that terrible destructive plague, a terrible disease that eats our souls like the rust that eats the iron … When in our heart lives the dissatisfaction, in us it can’t be love, humility, gentleness, wisdom … The one who would like to get rid of the pride – he should leave the dissatisfaction, and for him not to have anger – let him sympathize and love his dearest.
